Is there anyway to get this two extra lifes with a player and no debug in Carnival Night Zone Act 2? I'm making an extra life series and I need to know how to get it.

Hmm, never tried for them myself. Don't think I was even aware that they were there actually. Until I get round to doing the map and find out myself, I'd say your best bet would be perhaps you can get to them from the other side by taking a secret passage on a nearby route to the left of this area. Try debug mode and see if that wall is solid or not. Might also fall from above too I suppose.

I've definitely gotten these before, sans debug mode. I'm pretty sure the wall on the left isn't false.

I was Hyper Sonic at the time, and was just moving fast enough to go over the fans and foil the suction chute. It's been a long time, and I don't do it with any consistency. You can try spindashing and things, see if you can use speed to do it.

I'll have to boot it up and try again myself in the morning, try to get a better answer for you if no one else has by then.

Ok, I've finally found it out! (you can use this as a technique LiquidShade for your guide)

You have to charge a BIG spindash at the edge of the floor, and there you are. I'm currently uploading the video (with all the extra lifes from Carnival Night Zone) to Youtube!. Oh, I didn't use Super or Hyper Sonic.

I'll tell you when it's ready!

    OK, here's the video:

Ah, nice one. Yes I shall remember that for when I get round to it. Thanks!

    Can you help me LiQuidshade?

I'm needing the Ice Cap's map for my series.
    Then Launch Base's map.

    Ok? (I'll giving you credit).

PS: If you can, you can give me the amount of extra lifes from both acts from Ice Cap and Launch Base. Ok? (I'm not forcing you!)

I haven't made them yet, but you can get maps and find out yourself in exactly the way I would: Download Mercury's Sonic Extractor S3&K Mix export the maps and count the lives. :)

Hey, that's great, you got them! I thought high speeds would do it!

Those are some cool videos, too. I see you've got one of my favourite shortcut from Scrap Brain Act 3. :)

    Oh, for any problems.

*I DID NOT use speed shoes

And what type of video would you like to me do? (just answer it if you want, remember, I'm still with my extra lifes series, so when I finish it, I'll be open for requests!)

Well, if you're looking for ideas on what to do next...

You could make Perfect Ring guides to Sonic 2. The game gives you bonus score for collecting every single ring in an Act. I'm not even sure this is possible in every Act, but I've never seen anyone try. It might be a fun challenge.

Also, Special Stages usually involve rote memorisation, but they're very hard to practise, because a) there's usually no level select for them, and b) when you fail, the same one doesn't always come around again for a while.

There might still be some players out there who still use the original hardware, and would appreciate using videos to learn the patterns of the Special Stages - practise by proxy, if you will.

Any game's Special Stages would do - Sonic 2, Chaotix, Sonic Advance, whatever.

I'm not specifically requesting these videos, I'm just suggesting ideas in case they catch your fancy.

Ok, but that I'll see next week, because I'm not going to be able to do it this week (I'm very busy)!.

But that are good ideas. It's gonna be fun!

For example: Emerald Hill Zone can made through all rings! (but wait, Chemical Plant Zone and next levels will be tough)
But the easiest will be the Death Egg Zone :)
